American Vibe

The vibe in American business right now is weird. And we should stop pretending otherwise.

Executives are cautiously optimistic.
Employees are quietly exhausted.

Both groups are sitting in the same meetings, reading the same all-hands decks, nodding at the same culture initiatives, and walking away feeling completely different things.

The gap isn't a communication problem.
It's a proximity problem.

The further you are from the uncertainty, the easier it is to call this moment an opportunity.
The closer you are to it, the more it just feels like more change on top of unfinished change.

AI. RTO. Engagement. Restructuring.
Each one reasonable (and inevitable) on its own.

All of them landing at once on people who never fully exhaled from the last wave is low-key a lot.

The best solution I've found: fill the buckets you can fill, when you can fill them. The bumps aren't ending anytime soon, and the spills will happen regardless.
