Recovering Know-It-All
I used to think I had all the answers. Turns out, not so much. But what I did have was a bunch of great stories from trying to figure things out and a love for telling them.
These days, I make things.. songs that stick in your head (for good and bad reasons), photos that make you look twice (mostly for good reasons), and frameworks that help people connect without all the corporate theater (and there’s never a bad reason for genuine connection).
I also think about and write about the messy, human side of work because that’s where the magic actually happens. Not in the boardroom slides, but in the moments when someone feels heard, when a team clicks, or when a leader figures out vulnerability isn’t weakness but rocket fuel.
I definitely don’t have all the answers, but I’ve learned the best conversations start when you stop pretending you do. And if nothing else, I can always offer you a dad joke while we figure it out together.
That’s also why I wrote my first book, The Business Buffet—a bite-sized handbook of the skills no one teaches you in business school, served with stories, humor, and a little seasoning from real life. I’d love for you to pull up a chair and dig in!
Leading with heart, humor,
and a little bit of flavor

The Business Buffet isn’t your typical business book. It’s a spread of bite-sized, real-world lessons on leadership and communication—the kind they never bothered to teach you in business school, but somehow still expect you to know.
After two decades of leading teams, navigating messy transformations, and collecting more “learning moments” than I’d like to admit, I’ve boiled it down into chapters you can actually use. Think practical tools, a few hard-earned stories, and just enough humor to keep it digestible.
Whether you’re building a team, rebuilding trust, or just trying to survive another Monday meeting, this is your invite to grab a plate. Step up, speak clearly, and lead with purpose—one course at a time.
And if none of that works, at least the food metaphors are fun!
Some awesome chatter from the buffet line…
